Mission Statement




     BizTek is a small learning community that prepares students to meet the Common Core Standards across the interdisciplinary curriculum and NYS Regents requirements towards graduation. We offer innovative courses in the evolving fields of business and technology.  Technology courses culminate in certification upon successful completion of requirements and all business, engineering, and technology courses include hands-on application and experience.  BizTek prepares students for college, work, and life in the 21st century.

Technology

Grade 9: IC Core          

  Introduction to computer concepts and software applications along with basic networking and Internet skills.

  Students gain confidence and security to enter and be a part of today’s “digital world.”

  BizTek pre-requisite for CISCO Networking Academy, Engineering, and Virtual Enterprise.

  IC Certification Internet and Computing Applications, Networking, and Hardware

 

Grade 10: IT Essentials I - PC Hardware and Software

  This course provides an in-depth exposure to personal computer hardware and desktop operating systems.

  Students learn how to build and repair computers, install programs, and troubleshoot common hardware and software problems.

  CompTIA A+ Certification

 

Grade 11: Discovery 1-Networking for Home and Small Businesses

Grade 12: Discovery 2-Working at a Small-to Medium- Business or ISP

  The two courses provide students with technical and soft skills necessary to succeed in entry-level network technician, help desk technician, and sales support employment.

  Students build home and small-medium business level networks.

  CCENT Certification

 

 All ITE and Discovery students enroll in Cisco Networking Academy and take all tests online. Hands-on learning provides a demonstrative part of learning combined with independent and guided curriculum study.

Certifications & Sequences
Internships & Service Credit (ISC) includes opportunities for students to intern and earn credits toward graduation off-site and at Hillcrest.
