  • Summer Projects Available Now!

    Dear Hillcrest Students:

I know you are looking forward to your summer, but summer shouldn’t mean you stop learning and preparing for your future.  I am writing to let you know that I want you to go to our school’s website, www.hillcrestweb.com, so you can access the College/Career Readiness Summer Assignments.  I am asking all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students to complete these assignments because the summer is also the perfect time to begin planning for college and career.

In the Fall you will have the opportunity to bring proof that you completed the three assignments described below and receive a very cool Hillcrest themed prize.

Here are the College/Career Readiness Summer Assignments:

    1. Personal Statement Outline Assignment - This outline activity is to help you create a rough draft for your personal statement that you will use to write the personal statement essay for college admissions applications. REQUIRED PROOF:  Draft of Statement
    1. Student Brag Sheet - Recommendation letters can have an important impact on you getting into a college or earning a college scholarship. This assignment will help your teachers/guidance counselor/director write an effective letter of recommendation for you.  REQUIRED PROOF:  Completed Brag Sheet
    1. Create an Account on CollegeBoard.com and khanacademy.org/sat (and remember your username/password) - With a College Board account, you can access your SAT and AP scores online, and send them to colleges. You can also register for the SAT. With a Khan Academy account you can practice the newly designed SAT anytime, anywhere, at no cost.  Additionally, a College Board account lets you manage your personal college list, save your scholarship searches, compare costs at colleges that interest you, and more. REQUIRED PROOF: Printout of Confirmation Emails

All three of the above assignments will have to be completed by you sometime in your Hillcrest High School career, it is my hope that you use your time this summer productively and complete them; remember a cool prize awaits if you do!

Email me if you have any questions.  I am looking forward to seeing you in September.

    Best,

    Mr. Morrison

    Principal
